Catching Kids Doing the Right Thing!
Have you ever caught your kid doing something wrong? Pretty easy, isn't it?
I can go out in my own back yard and catch mine doing silly, goofy stuff! If we're not catching them…the newspapers and T.V. stations sure are...and making
sure that we see every bad thing they've done!
The sad thing is, most kids are doing the right thing! We just don't see them get the same "publicity". Wouldn't it be refreshing to open a newspaper or turn on the T.V. and see someone...anyone...catching a kid doing something right?
The Neighborhood GuyTM Foundation does just that. It's been formed to honor special young people who have done something really, really good... something far above and beyond anyone's expectations!
I know you've seen this kid. Maybe they're in your own family... or live next door. This kid is the one that always seems to work harder than everyone else... they're kinder to those less fortunate than themselves... or they just like to help in their community...and they do so without any coaxing, begging, or bribing from an adult.
The Foundation rewards these special young people, who live within the Mansfield and Arlington school districts, for their outstanding contributions to their families, neighbors, schools, churches, and community. We want to reward these exceptional kids...and prove to them that it can pay to do good things!
Every month, one boy and one girl will be selected by the Board of Directors of
the Foundation to receive a check for $500.00 each. How they and their parents choose to spend the reward is left totally up to them…it's their money!
To be a part of this exciting effort and submit a nomination review the nomination criteria, selection process and then fill out a nomination form. This is your opportunity to share in rewarding young people
who are making a difference... and
tell others about this wonderful opportunity to make a difference in a young person's
life.

Meet the Board
Michael Milford, Founder and Chairman of the Board
Michael has been in the homebuilding and construction industry for 31 years. He was a Senior Builder and Project Manager for three nationally recognized homebuilders, including David Weekley homes and has built or managed 535 new homes since coming to Texas. He is the Founder and owner of The Neighborhood GuyTM which is the most relied upon handyman business in the Mansfield/Arlington area and Milford Construction Services, Inc. He is also a proud member of the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife Nancy and sons Max and Harrison live in Arlington.
JoAnn Georgostathis, Board Member
JoAnn was a faculty member in Raytheon's Corporate University and taught leadership courses and workshops for team leaders and program managers throughout the United States. Prior to that she was a director of a pregnancy center and networked with other community organizations and recruited and trained volunteer staff. On a national level she oversaw a program that trained and developed existing centers. She is a speaker for professional organizations, women's organizations, conferences and church events. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree at San Francisco State University.
Pam Ikner, Board Member
Pam is a Financial Analyst for Lockheed Martin Corporation and is responsible for customer contracts in excess of $340 million dollars. A graduate of Nolan Catholic High School in Fort Worth, she received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Christian University. She is actively involved in her children's schools as President of Children's University Parent Organization and a band booster member at Mansfield Summit High School. She and her husband Michael have been married for 21 years and have three children.
Todd Simmons, Board Member
Todd is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones Investments. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Louisiana Tech University, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Northwestern State University and an MBA from Centenary College in Louisiana. He is actively involved in the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield and has served as President and Chair of the Golf Tournament. He is part of the Site Base Committee for Mansfield High School and an active member of the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce. Todd and his wife Rona and children Alana and Nolan live in Mansfield.
